Quia Fecisti Nos: The Restless Heart by St. Augustine in His Original Latin & Its Meaning for Us Today

“Quia fecisti nos ad Te, et inquietum est cor nostrum, donec requiescat in Te.” This famous phrase translates more or less as “For, You have made us for Yourself, and our heart is restless until it rests in Thee.” But… its doesn’t end there. This is power packed in the original Latin and holds as much meaning for us today as it did for the great Father and Doctor of the Church, St. Augustine of Hippo. Combined with 3 of my favorite Scripture quotes, this is ancient wisdom for our meditation and sanctification. AMDG
